Many users do not realize that you need to always be viewing and “liking” the business Facebook Fan Pages you are visiting from your Personal Facebook Page (the one with your real name), for it to actually “count”.

“Liking” a fan page from your own fan page does NOT increase the “like” counter viewed on the fan pages.

You could “like” with both of your pages if you want; but, only pressing the “like” button when viewing directly from your Personal page will change the counter. (If you’ve been “liking” business fan pages from your own fan page all along, you can go back to the same business fan pages and “like” again from your Personal page, and it will “count” this time.)

If you want to be “liked” in return, you should post your Fan Page Link on the wall of the page you are “liking”. Otherwise, the owner may not be willing to take the time to figure out which Facebook Fan Page is yours, or even be able to, since you are posting from your Personal page. Also, when you are “liking” in return, it’s not as important, but still very good courtesy to indicate that you are returning the gesture from your (name), so the page owner realizes they’ve already visited your page. 

To Post a Link:

You can use the “link” button on walls which allow it as an option, to post a photo link of your fan page. For walls that don’t have a link button for photo links, you can still create a discrete, clickable blue business link by typing…@your business name

….anywhere within your message.

I LIKEd approximately 70 pages this morning and sent messages to all of them.  Facebook responded by sending me a message to "SLOW DOWN" and that I may not be using this service for it's intended purpose, lol, thanks facebook, I'll slow down.  More LIKEs tomorrow, or maybe later if I can get away with it!  We've lost an hour today, I have to make it up somewhere!  Perhaps I should send a letter to Mark Zuckerberg and ask him how I am supposed to deal with an hour being taken out of my day.  Don't tell me to slow down Mark!  What would you do?  Were you told to slow down?

I'm a little behind on my prefered totals for a week. Only at 580 today, ideally I'd be at 620.

Liked Chelsea Falin Hammond's page but she does not allow wall posts or messages so I can't inform her.

Overall, even if I'm only getting 1-2 likes for every 5 given - I've definitely noticed a sharp improvement in my outreach over the last month or so. Wonderful service. I'll continue to make my way down the list steadily.

Also, for those having a dificulty remembering to hit the "like" button under each name because it scrolls back to top and loses your place on the list. Right click the like and select open in new tab. That should prevent the scrolling issue while allowing the tally to update properly. I think.

I agree, I entered this over a year ago.  I have liked 1,238 pages, give or take a few that could not be liked for one reason or another... and I am now only at 467 Likes on my fan page, Bad Red Shoes, #67 in list.   I don't know what the secret is... but I do appreciate everyone who HAS liked my page. Hope it gets better for you.

Hi Jane! I think "The O'Brien Journals" issue is that he does not want his fans, followers, friends...to know that he is doing this. You are right though, the instructions clearly indicate for us to copy and paste the heading to our messages so that we can recognize each other and return the favor. I've been trying to send private messages whenever possible.

Yes Mandy I've rectified the situation. I did too many on the first day and I guess FB picked it up as spam, but I cleared that and haven't had problems since. Thank you!

Number 865 does not work.  Just on the blocked part I have not had any issues on being blocked and I have done over 30 on a day but I do end up having a break through the weekend maybe that makes a difference.  It might help if you are multi tasking and take your time to like as you are doing a set.  I think it goes on how fast you are liking more than anything else.

I was able to do my "Likes" today! Yay!

Vashti You can be blocked for liking other pages to quickly. We encourage you to like pages once a week to avoid being suspended.

I liked the page for on this list for The O'Brien Journals (number 101 on the list) and sent the standard message (on this page), after which the page owner posted this:

  ...Ok I want to start off by saying it's great that so many people/fans and authors are "liking" my page, and for that I say "thank you very much". Now here's the "but" part. Please STOP the bullshit, generic, cold and cut&paste message. If you really want me to like YOUR page (as a fellow author) then be real and actually say something besides - "#ShareTheLove4Authors from the World Literary Cafe (WLC) community! Great page" or similar on those lines. I'm not asking you to leave your freaking bio, but at least have a real sentence. I mean WE are... authors for christ sake. I'm sure we can come up with something to say ;) 

Why would you join this group if you object to the agreed method of introduction?
